Get The Right Sprayer For The Job

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Mon, Jun 13, 2016

There are many options in the marketplace when it comes to sprayers. Depending on your industry, Kings Sprayers.jpgdeciding which options and features to include can quickly get confusing.

However, choosing the right sprayer for your job should not be a daunting task. Whether you are jsut starting out in a new business or you are a seasoned spray applicator, there are a few things you should consider before buying new equipment. You should start by answering a couple of questions to help you determine the sprayer that best fits your needs:

  • What are you spraying? (Trees? Lawns? Golf Course?)
  • Will you be spraying by hand or using a vehicle?
  • What type of vehicle are you using to transport the sprayer?
  • What chemicals are you applying?
  • How big or small is the area you are spraying?

Once you've got answers to these questions, consider the following options:

Skid Sprayers

These sprayers are usually mounted in the back of pickup trucks or utility vehicles. Skid sprayers are popular among pest control operators and landscapers because the sprayer can easily be transported from site to site.

2-Wheel Sprayers

2-Wheel sprayers are often used when the sprayer is pulled by an ATV or another type of vehicle. They are great for large areas such as golf courses and sports fields, where a pickup truck or walking is not suitable.

4-Wheel sprayers

Since they are easy to maneuver, 4-Wheel sprayers are typically preferred by customers who are in need of a sprayer they can pull by hand. Due to the pivoting front axle and T-handle, these sprayers are ideal for use in tight areas such as greenhouses or nurseries where the sprayer can be pulled along by hand and the operator can spray hard-to-reach locations.

3-Point Hitch Sprayers

3-Point Hitch sprayers are perfect for customers who plan to hitch the sprayer to a tractor in order to spray large areas like golf courses, athletic fields, crop fields, pastures and lawns. Large areas can be sprayed, without the spray applicator having to leave the cab. Booms or boomless nozzles can be attached, depending on the application.

Spot Sprayers

Spot sprayers are the ideal equipment for spraying along fences, keeping weeds at bay and spraying other hard to reach places. They are designed to tackle smaller areas while providing more gallon capacity and a more reliable application than hand-held or backpack sprayers.

Kings Sprayers® has been building high quality commercial sprayers for more than 30 years. Made in the USA and based in Orlando, FL, every sprayer is built from the ground up, using only the best parts like Hypro® pumps, Udor® pumpsHonda® engines, and 6061 aircraft grade aluminum frames. KingsSprayers_Custom-Sprayers.pngWe understand that not every application or applicator works the same way. No one knows your job better than you do, so take charge of your spray equipment. Get exactly what YOU need at a price that won't break the bank.

Our team of knowledgeable Customer Service Technicians will work with you to develop, design, and build the spray equipment you want and need. We are proud of delivering excellent customer service, expert technical support, and quality sprayers that can be custom-built for your business.

We've built thousands of custom sprayers over the years, so we can help you find the best set-up for your application. Our Customer Service Technicians can answer all of your technical questions and provide you with a free quote. If price is holding you back from purchasing custom equipment, put your mind and wallet at ease. Custom sprayers are more affordable than you think, and most common modifications are relatively inexpensive.

Need more hose or a bigger tank with a different frame? We never shy away from any type of customization, regardless of how small or big of a job it may be.

Here are some examples of the most common modification requests we receive:

  • Extra hose reels
  • Switch manual hose to an electric version
  • Select a different spray gun
  • Use a bigger or smaller tank
  • Change the tank's orientation on the frame
  • Add another line on the suction side
  • Switch gas engine to electric start

We've built many different sprayers so we can recommend a variety of great options for your unit. We talked to Sales Manager, Brandon Grossman, who shared with us three recent custom-built sprayers:

Kings Sprayers 200 Gallon Hot Water Pressure Washer Skid Sprayer

KS200P19HW-Hot water pressure washer sprayer.jpg"One of our customers landed a bid for a series of mall properties. The bid required a hot water pressure washer in order to clean away all of the grease and grime in and around the building. The cold water pressure washers he used previously served only to move the grime around instead of melting it away. The solution was to build a sprayer with a water heater. The hot water not only cleans away the dirt but also allows the job to be completed more efficiently by reducing the amount of spray time needed."

Model: KS200P1926HW

Features:
  • 13 HP Honda GX390 series electric start engine
  • General Pump plunger pump (4 gpm, 4000 psi)
  • Sprayer equipped with manual hose reel and 100' 3/8" ID hose
  • 6061 aircraft grade aluminum frame
  • 12V battery included to power engine

Kings Sprayers 200 Gallon 4-Wheel Sprayer w/ 7 GPM Electric Pump

KS200P3FB27BK-Web.jpg
"A customer recently built four new greenhouses and needed an electric sprayer, instead of a gas engine, to reduce emissions. He also needed a pump that would supply enough flow and pressure to effectively spray at the end of a 150’ length of hose. A 4-wheel sprayer was ideal for this job as it can be pulled by hand and has great maneuverability for tight spaces"

Features:
  • Delavan 7870-101Y-SB 12V pump (7 gpm, 100 psi)
  • Manual hose reel with 150' 3/8" ID hose
  • Battery kit included
  • 6061 aircraft grade aluminum frame

Kings Sprayers 200/100 Gallon Dual Tank Skid Sprayer & Dual Electric Hose Reels

KS200100P7039E2.jpg "A recent customer needed to mix water with chemicals and have two applicators spraying at the same time. We modified a skid sprayer so he could easily mount the unit on a vehicle and added an extra tank and an extra hose reel!"

Features:
  • 5.5 HP Honda GX160 electric start engine
  • Hypro D30GRGI diaphragm pump (9.5 gpm, 580 psi)
  • Dual electric hose reels with 300' of 1/2" ID hose
  • Hose roller guides & fill pipes for each tank
  • Battery kit included for engine & electric hose reels
  • 6061 aircraft grade aluminum frame

Time for Dormant Oil Application to Fruit Trees

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Mon, Apr 04, 2016

Do you currently manage an orchard, vineyard, or a nursery? Now is the perfect time to spray Spraying_trees.jpgdormant oil to protect your trees from pests. Timing, spray solution and spray equipment all have an impact on the effectiveness of your application.

Don't forget to take a look at our tall tree spray guns that can output high pressures to ensure proper coverage even on the highest fruit trees. A sprayer such as the Kings Sprayers 50 Gallon 4-Wheel Sprayer, can be pulled by hand and offers great maneuverability making it easy for you to use in tight spaces. Ready to learn more?

Read the article below for tips on applying dormant oil effectively this spring.

Reprinted from University of Missouri Extension

For home fruit growers the time is here to make annual dormant oil application on selected fruit trees and small fruit species. Dormant oil is a refined petroleum product formulated for orchard tree use. It has been in use for well over a century in commercial orchards, and is still regularly used today. It is classified as an insecticide, and acts by coating over-wintering insects hiding in the tree trunk and limb bark with a suffocating layer of oil. A second type of dormant spray material is liquid lime-sulfur. It is considered a natural product, and is used mainly on small fruit (grapes, blueberries, blackberries), to sanitize stems and kill overwintering fungus.

The two most important insect species suppressed by dormant oil sprays are red mites and scale. Both are common pest problems in fruit trees. Important to remember is that oil sprays will suppress, but do not always totally control these insects. Additional sprays of insecticides will likely be necessary to control these and other insects during the growing season. However, dormant oil decreases the insect populations by killing overwintering adults and eggs, and thus slows seasonal build-ups. This makes it well worth the extra time and cost.

Dormant oil is regularly used on apple, pear, plum, quince and crabapples. It is also recommended for use on currant and gooseberry bushes. As the word "dormant" implies, this spray should be applied before the buds swell or before new growth starts in the spring. If applied after growth starts, the new tissue can be damaged. Application should be done when temperatures are above freezing (35-45F), and when the weather forecast calls for non- freezing temperatures for at least 24 hours after application. It is important to make thorough coverage when you spray, taking care to spray bark crevices and cracks where insects may be overwintering. Dormant oil can be purchased at any garden center, and is relatively inexpensive.

Peaches, nectarines, apricots and to an extent plums, do not often require an oil spray. However if mites have been a problem in the past, then a dormant oil spray is suggested. More important for peaches and nectarines is a dormant spray containing lime-sulfur, or a copper based fungicide for control of peach leaf curl disease. For plum pocket disease in plums, apply chlorothalonil (sold as Daconil). Apply these sprays at any time during the winter, but before the buds swell for the new season.

Grapes, blueberries, gooseberries and brambles (blackberries, raspberries) should be sprayed with liquid lime-sulfur to reduce anthracnose and other disease on the canes. An important note: for all fruit crops, liquid lime-sulfur should not be sprayed with, or in close timing (1 week) with an oil spray as tissue damage can result. Remember, always read and follow label directions for proper use of any pesticide.

Kings Sprayers: Building a Sprayer

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Fri, Sep 25, 2015

Sprayer_build

Building sprayers is more than a job, it's a passion. Passion for ensuring customers' satisfaction, for finding set-ups that improve efficiency and ease of application, and most of all, a passion to build quality products that are cost-effective and time-saving. We are passionate about what we do and we are proud to manufacture Kings Sprayers in Orlando, FL.

Do you want to learn more about how we build  Kings Sprayers? We thought you would so we've outlined the basic steps from start to finish.

The first step after we've received your order is for our production manager to go over the work order for your specific sprayer model. If it is a custom sprayer, he makes sure that it can be built according to your specifications while also following safety standards. If our production team identifies something that could be improved or changed to give you a product that may better meet your needs, our team will offer the solution and work with you to design the best set-up for your needs.  We love it when customers take an active role in customizing their sprayers. After all, no one knows your job better than you do!

Then we move to the manufacturing process, where our welders will build a sturdy, yet lightweight, aluminum frame that will support all components in your sprayer. The next step involves assembly and this is where everything comes together. Our assembly technicians will carefully install all the individual components (hose reels, pumps, boomless nozzles, tanks, engines etc.) and make sure that every part is set up correctly. The unit then moves to our quality control station where it will be thoroughly tested.

Building Kings Sprayers at our Orlando facility instead of just outsourcing manufacturing means that we have control over quality, can offer better customization along with great prices and faster delivery times. We stand behind our products and can guarantee that our sprayers are built to the highest standards of quality and with the best available parts.

3 Reasons to Choose a Sprayer with a Light-Weight Aluminum Frame

Posted by Marketing Manager on Thu, May 31, 2012

At Sprayer Depot, we're committed to bringing our customers the best quality products at the lowest possible prices.  That's why we are a proud distributor of Kings Sprayers. One of the features that makes Kings Sprayers stand out above other commercial sprayers is that Kings Sprayers are built using a 6061 aircraft grade aluminum frame. The frame is lightweight, chemical resistant and will never rust or need painting.

4 Wheel Trailer Sprayer
Kings 100 Gallon 4-Wheel Trailer Sprayer with 12" Manual Reel and 150' of Spray Hose.
Model # K4C100P7027

Top 3 Reasons to Choose an Aluminum Frame Sprayer

  1. Since an aluminum frame is resistant to chemicals and the elements, it will not rust or deteriorate like a steel frame.

  2. An aluminum frame is strong and durable, yet it is lightweight which makes it easy to transport.

  3. Aluminum is maintainance-free! No painting or special finish required in order to keep it looking good.

If weight is an issue, a steel frame may not be an option.  Often, an alumunum frame is preferred simply because it eliminates excess weight on a vehicle.  Aluminum frame sprayers are also easier to pull.  Even though they are lightweight, they are durable and strong.
