Get The Right Sprayer For The Job

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Mon, Jun 13, 2016

There are many options in the marketplace when it comes to sprayers. Depending on your industry, deciding which options and features to include can quickly get confusing.

However, choosing the right sprayer for your job should not be a daunting task. Whether you are jsut starting out in a new business or you are a seasoned spray applicator, there are a few things you should consider before buying new equipment. You should start by answering a couple of questions to help you determine the sprayer that best fits your needs:

  • What are you spraying? (Trees? Lawns? Golf Course?)
  • Will you be spraying by hand or using a vehicle?
  • What type of vehicle are you using to transport the sprayer?
  • What chemicals are you applying?
  • How big or small is the area you are spraying?

Once you've got answers to these questions, consider the following options:

Skid Sprayers

These sprayers are usually mounted in the back of pickup trucks or utility vehicles. Skid sprayers are popular among pest control operators and landscapers because the sprayer can easily be transported from site to site.

2-Wheel Sprayers

2-Wheel sprayers are often used when the sprayer is pulled by an ATV or another type of vehicle. They are great for large areas such as golf courses and sports fields, where a pickup truck or walking is not suitable.

4-Wheel sprayers

Since they are easy to maneuver, 4-Wheel sprayers are typically preferred by customers who are in need of a sprayer they can pull by hand. Due to the pivoting front axle and T-handle, these sprayers are ideal for use in tight areas such as greenhouses or nurseries where the sprayer can be pulled along by hand and the operator can spray hard-to-reach locations.

3-Point Hitch Sprayers

3-Point Hitch sprayers are perfect for customers who plan to hitch the sprayer to a tractor in order to spray large areas like golf courses, athletic fields, crop fields, pastures and lawns. Large areas can be sprayed, without the spray applicator having to leave the cab. Booms or boomless nozzles can be attached, depending on the application.

Spot Sprayers

Spot sprayers are the ideal equipment for spraying along fences, keeping weeds at bay and spraying other hard to reach places. They are designed to tackle smaller areas while providing more gallon capacity and a more reliable application than hand-held or backpack sprayers.
