Product Highlight: Kings Sprayers 510 Gallon Highway Ready Trailer Sprayer

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Wed, Sep 23, 2015

In this Product Highlight post, we are featuring the Kings Sprayers 510 Gallon Highway-Ready Trailer Sprayer #KT510P12042EThis heavy duty, commercial sprayer is built strong for those big jobs where transportation is crucial. This specific model was designed after a customer contacted us needing a large capacity sprayer that could safely bed hauled from one location to another.

In order to ensure proper support and high durability, we mounted the tank on a steel tandem axle trailer. The tandem axle is ideal when transporting heavy loads and provides a more stable ride at higher speeds in highway conditions. The 510 gallon poly tank features molded-in legs to support the tank and band locators for tie down to make sure it stays in place. The straps are bolted to the frame to maximize safety and stability. To facilitate the operator's handling, the walls of the tank are translucent for easy level viewing and is equipped with gallon indicators. Best of all, we built it right here in our warehouse from the ground up, so we can account for its high-quality craftsmanship and parts.

This sprayer is great for spraying trees up to 80' in the air and the high flow pump is great for drenching and transferring liquids quickly. All of Kings Sprayers are customizable to your requirements, including this one! Call us and get it customized your way.

Features:

  • 510 Gallon Free Standing Horizontal Leg Tank
  • 20 HP GX630 Electric Start Honda Engine
  • Udor KAPPA-120/GR Diaphragm Pump (35 gpm, 700 psi)

Sprayer Depot: Exceeding Customer Expectations

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Wed, Dec 10, 2014

A few weeks ago we introduced you to Brandon, Sprayer Depot’s sales manager who shed some light into how our sales department operates. We thought it might help if we dug a little deeper into just how our Customer Service Technicians operate, and demonstrated some of the lengths they go to exceed expectations – from technical support on sprayer equipment to delivery needs, to even helping customers save money along the way. After all, the sales department here at Sprayer Depot is empowered to go above and beyond for customers, with customer satisfaction being the number one goal.

It’s no secret that there is competition in the spray equipment market. But one thing we feel sets us apart from other spray equipment companies is the way we treat people:  finding solutions for a problem, helping to navigate the variety of parts and accessories to meet their needs, and simply the general interest we take in getting to know folks.

Let me share a recent example. We’re based in Florida, so when an in-state customer placed an online order with 2nd Day Air shipping, a flag went up with the shipping team fulfilling the order. One of our team members in the shipping department identified that given the proximity, the customer could save money on shipping while getting the product faster. So we contacted the customer to let them know that ground shipment would get there in just one business day, and the shipping would be less expensive.  As you can imagine, the customer was extremely happy that their order arrived a day sooner than expected, but was also grateful we took the extra step to catch the order and save them money.

“We strive for perfection in regards to making sure our customers are pleased with their purchase and feel good about doing business with us,” Brandon added. “We want them to continue to call/email, whether it’s just with a question or another order.”

It’s that one-on-one approach, plus being courteous of a customer’s time (we realize you don’t have all day to get things done) that help turn first-time sales into repeat business.

One metric we use to showcase these attributes is through BizRate reviews that are published online for all to see. Sprayer Depot is assured that we are conducting business the right way. Take a look at our BizRate page to see for yourself. As Brandon would say, “We’re killing it in the 3 main categories!” That enthusiasm is infectious and carries across the entire team that takes your calls, responds to emails or chats online.

We also shifted our customer survey system this year – the old design was limited to simply determining if a customer was completely satisfied or not with their purchasing experience. It was one or the other.  So we updated the survey that’s emailed to customers after they place, and receive an order to measure the satisfaction rate, as measured on a scale from 1-10. This helps us find areas for improvement, even if a customer wasn’t completely dissatisfied.

The numbers don’t lie, either. We use a Net Promoter Score in those email surveys that on average is at 90%. In addition, the average Rating Score is a whopping 9.4 out of 10!  On top of that, an average of more than 50% of survey respondents submit additional comments and compliments.

See for yourself. Take a look at what a few of our customers had to say about ordering sprayers, sprayer parts and accessories from Sprayer Depot:

“What a great shopping experience! Website is very clear – had the sprayer gun and all the parts I needed. Live chat answered all questions re: fitting size.” – Dan. O., Virginia

Sprayer Depot thank youAs the holiday season kicks into high gear and spray season winds down, we reflect on all that we’ve accomplished this year and the impact that you, our customers, have made. From your insight, sharing feedback with our Customer Service Technicians as you work with these products every day, to your contributions and support on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and even right here on the blog. We appreciate it. If you’re on our email list then you’ve likely seen the deals we shared on three of our most popular products. It’s just a little treat to say ‘thank you’ for being a Sprayer Depot Customer.

Note our special holiday hours.
The Sprayer Depot team will be enjoying some well-deserved time off this holiday season. Please note that Sprayer Depot will be closed on Thursday, November 27 through Friday, November 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Giving back to our community.
Thanksgiving is more than giving thanks for the harvest and the bounty of the preceding year. This year the Sprayer Depot team has committed to giving back by volunteering hours on a Saturday to build a home for a family in need. Through our local Habitat for Humanity program, you’ll soon hear how we lent our hands for a day and contributed to providing a family in need with a roof over their head. It’s such a worthy program, and the team here at Sprayer Depot is excited to participate. Stay tuned for more information.

We love to hear from you.
Speaking of the New Year (can’t believe we’re already talking about 2015), if there’s anything you like, dislike or want us to share here on the blog, let us know. How To Build the Perfect Custom Sprayer

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Fri, Sep 05, 2014

Kings Sprayer 100/50 Dual Tank Skid Sprayer

When we say we know sprayers, it’s true. Our team builds more than 500 custom sprayers each year for customers looking to modify or completely reconfigure the makeup of this important tool. After all, you don’t have to settle for less than perfect in the sprayer world. Just turn to our Sprayer Depot knowledgeable customer service technicians with your ideas and < bam > the perfect custom sprayer is born. Here we’ll take a look at some of the common modifications to a few of our best selling sprayer models from Kings Sprayers.

You might be wondering if Sprayer Depot can modify one of the existing sprayers manufactured from Kings Sprayers. In a word, YES! Whether it’s adding more hose, swapping out the pump, or modifying the entire unit to your specific needs, Sprayer Depot can make it happen. We talked to operations manager David Herrera who mentioned “one of our biggest strengths is that we can get creative to solve space issues by creating custom frames and thinking outside the box.” Let’s take a closer look at a few scenarios as described by David:

One common customization is the dual tank setup (pictured above). Sometimes customers want two tanks so they can have chemicals in one tank and fresh water in the other, or another common scenario is having a need to spray two different chemicals while out on the job. We can make that happen within almost any parameter needed.

Another unique customization we created at the request of a customer is depicted in the same image above where you’ll notice that the hose reel is turned to the side. This is popular with the skid sprayer units in particular because the skid sprayer is usually in the bed of a pickup truck. It can be more convenient for the operator to have the hose dispatched from the passenger side when spraying lawns and shrubs.

Gator Kings SprayersAnother example is  this custom Gator Kings Sprayers model. This skid sprayer unit fits into the back of a Gator utility vehicle. We had a customer request for a 100-gallon tank with a specific pump, engine, and hose reel. Given the standard way we build our skids, there was no way we could fit what the customer wanted in his Gator. So we got creative by using a low profile tank and designed a custom frame so that all of the components could be mounted above the tank. This is one of the most direct examples of how our team can creatively solve a problem a customer might have encountered with a standard off-the-shelf sprayer.

Below are a few of the most common modifications that can turn a stock sprayer into a custom model ideal for your needs:

  • Change the manual hose reel to an electric version
  • Add more hose to the hose reel
  • Change the standard spray gun to something else
  • Swap in a larger tank
  • Change the gas engine to electric start
  • Modify the orientation of the tank on the frame
  • Change the sprayer pump to a different manufacturer’s pump
  • Add another line on the suction side

So, what modifications would you love to improve your sprayer?

Customer Spotlight: Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT)

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Tue, Jul 22, 2014

UDOTThe Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has the responsibility to plan, construct and maintain the state highway system. The state reported 45,881 total public road mileage, including state, county, city, forest service, national park service, native American and other roadways. That’s a lot of surfaces for the 13th largest state by size in the United States. To keep those roadways in tip top shape, UDOT uses a variety of equipment including, as you may have assumed, sprayers.

So we asked the Urban Area Supervisor for his insight on how sprayers are use in his line of work.

1. What type of spray equipment does the UDOT use?
We have several types of equipment that are used here from 250-350 gallon tanks in urban areas and up to 2,000 gallon tanks in rural areas. Smaller tanks are operated from our maintenance one-ton trucks with the large tanks mounted in our ten-wheeler trucks. We also use an ATV mounted sprayer with a small tank to get the areas that are not accessible by trucks. Plus, we have hose reels, side bar sprayers, and boom buster sprayers that spray up to 35'.

2. What is typically being sprayed?
We are using pesticides and herbicides for weed control and vegetative management. We are targeting our areas that have noxious weeds like Kochia, Thistles, White Top and nuisance weeds.

3. Who is in charge of maintaining the spray equipment?
Our station maintenance personnel who hold an applicators license take care of the equipment that they are using. If it is a major repair, then we have our region maintenance shop fix the problem.

4. What months of the year do you use spray equipment?
We start using our equipment in March and will spray into June. Then we have areas that spray in September and October.

5. What are the general responsibilities of the DOT?
Our general responsibilities are preserving infrastructure, maintaining our roadways, and keeping roads and interstates clean and safe for our traveling public. Doing all we can to help with zero fatalities.

6. Are there custom-sprayers in your fleet?
Yes, we have built custom over the years.

7. How often is the spray equipment used? (Daily? Weekly?)
It’s used weekly in our peak seasons. We have also used these sprayers for maintenance operations where water is need to help the activity.

8. Do you typically place orders for sprayer parts and accessories on the website? Or is the order phoned in?
Prefer to phone the order in.
