3 Reasons Why You Need an Economy Sprayer

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Fri, Oct 02, 2015

The K15E100 is a 15 gallon economy sprayer ideal for garden and backyard use. You can use it to spray along fences, to keep weeds under control and to spray other hard to reach places. This type of sprayer comes in handy if you want something easy to transport but with enough power to get the job done quickly ad efficiently!

If you are currently using a backpack or a hand-held sprayer, or if you are just looking for a small, reliable unit, then keep on reading for our top 3 reasons why you should consider an economy sprayer.

1. Reduce Spraying Time

The 15 gallon tank on our economy sprayer holds 3-4 times more liquid than standard hand-held or backpack sprayers. This eliminates the need to constantly stop and refill your sprayer. This alone will save you so much time and will allow you to cover more space faster and more efficiently. One of our customers said "I was able to spray the territory in half the time!", when comparing his new 15-gallon economy sprayer to his old backpack sprayer.

2. Comfort and Safety

We all know that backpack sprayers can be really hard on your back, and using a hand-held sprayer is not much better either. Avoid unnecessary injuries and overexertion by just mounting this economy sprayer to an ATV or to another work vehicle.

3. Constant Pressure

Save yourself the hassle of having to manually pump a sprayer. The  Kings Sprayers Economy Sprayer is built with a standard Everflo 12 volt self-priming pump*. This will keep the pressure constant without having to rely on doing it yourself. Another one of our customers shared why he loves this unit "For about $40 more than my old backpack sprayer, this new sprayer helps me keep the flow rate at a constant level, making my application uniform"

Getting Started With a Kings Sprayers Spot Sprayer

Posted by Sprayer Depot on Wed, Jul 08, 2015

A spot sprayer is perfect for those small but important jobs around the yard. They are the ideal equipment for spraying along fences, keeping weed patches in control and spraying other hard to reach places. Kings Sprayers K25-SpotSprayerspot sprayers are built with a standard SHURflo 12 volt self-priming pump* giving them the necessary power to accomplish all these tasks in an efficient manner.

When deciding if a spot sprayer is the right equipment for your project, remember that the name says it all. Spot sprayers are better suited for smaller areas as the pump can fail if overworked beyond its capacity.
If you are looking to spray larger areas, check out our inventory of Kings Sprayers featuring gas engine driven pumps for that extra power or please consult with one of our Customer Service Technicians on the best equipment for you.
Follow these simple steps on getting started with your Kings Sprayers spot sprayer and watch the short video below for extra guidance:
  • Connect the 12 volt battery supply and turn the pump on by using the 'ON/OFF' switch
  • Water will flow through the filter and the pressure gauge will be just under 60 psi
  • There is a slight drop in pressure when the agitator valve is open
  • The nozzle is adjustable from a cone pattern all the way down to a straight stream
  • You can lock the spray gun's handle by flipping the white switch
  • To turn it off simply turn the power switch to 'OFF'
*12 volt pumps need to be powered by a 12 volt battery or wired up to an ATV/Truck.

How To Build the Perfect Custom Sprayer

Kings Sprayer 100/50 Dual Tank Skid Sprayer

When we say we know sprayers, it’s true. Our team builds more than 500 custom sprayers each year for customers looking to modify or completely reconfigure the makeup of this important tool. After all, you don’t have to settle for less than perfect in the sprayer world. Just turn to our Sprayer Depot knowledgeable customer service technicians with your ideas and < bam > the perfect custom sprayer is born. Here we’ll take a look at some of the common modifications to a few of our best selling sprayer models from Kings Sprayers.

You might be wondering if Sprayer Depot can modify one of the existing sprayers manufactured from Kings Sprayers. In a word, YES! Whether it’s adding more hose, swapping out the pump, or modifying the entire unit to your specific needs, Sprayer Depot can make it happen. We talked to operations manager David Herrera who mentioned “one of our biggest strengths is that we can get creative to solve space issues by creating custom frames and thinking outside the box.” Let’s take a closer look at a few scenarios as described by David:

One common customization is the dual tank setup (pictured above). Sometimes customers want two tanks so they can have chemicals in one tank and fresh water in the other, or another common scenario is having a need to spray two different chemicals while out on the job. We can make that happen within almost any parameter needed.

Another unique customization we created at the request of a customer is depicted in the same image above where you’ll notice that the hose reel is turned to the side. This is popular with the skid sprayer units in particular because the skid sprayer is usually in the bed of a pickup truck. It can be more convenient for the operator to have the hose dispatched from the passenger side when spraying lawns and shrubs.

Gator Kings SprayersAnother example is  this custom Gator Kings Sprayers model. This skid sprayer unit fits into the back of a Gator utility vehicle. We had a customer request for a 100-gallon tank with a specific pump, engine, and hose reel. Given the standard way we build our skids, there was no way we could fit what the customer wanted in his Gator. So we got creative by using a low profile tank and designed a custom frame so that all of the components could be mounted above the tank. This is one of the most direct examples of how our team can creatively solve a problem a customer might have encountered with a standard off-the-shelf sprayer.

Below are a few of the most common modifications that can turn a stock sprayer into a custom model ideal for your needs:

  • Change the manual hose reel to an electric version
  • Add more hose to the hose reel
  • Change the standard spray gun to something else
  • Swap in a larger tank
  • Change the gas engine to electric start
  • Modify the orientation of the tank on the frame
  • Change the sprayer pump to a different manufacturer’s pump
  • Add another line on the suction side

So, what modifications would you love to improve your sprayer?

How to Operate a Standard Spot Sprayer

Posted by Marketing Manager on Wed, Jan 16, 2013

Back to Basics

Whether you're an expereinced sprayer operator or brand new to the job, it's important to review the proper operation of your spray equipment. Proper equipment use may help the equipment last longer, and helps keep the sprayer operater safe. For some this is a basic review, and for others it's an introduction.

Spot Sprayers 101

To start your Spot Sprayer, plug in your 2-prong, 12v power source. You can use an "L" wrench to set the pressure. The pressure comes factory set. The pump will run ONLY when the trigger is pressed. The pump will shut off when the trigger is released. Rotating the adjustable nozzle tip on the handgun will change the tip pattern from a jet stream to a cone pattern (finer mist). You can lock the handle by flipping the white switch.  There is a drain located in the rear of the tank for easy clean-out.
